I am a modern day explorer finding unique destinations for others to enjoy. Along the journey, I am always on the lookout for voluntourism opportunities that fellow travelers can take part in when they visit. I feel that when tourists build relationships during their travels, the trip becomes that much more memorable. In turn, it gives them a broader view of the world. Our choices while traveling can have a huge impact on communities; I hope to promote a positive one. Bountiful Blessings was created to become a hub for unique travel ideas and voluntourism opportunities.
Family trips were a highlight of mine as a kid. They tended to be on the educational side, versus leisurely and exciting, but they got me out of my small town and gave me new ideas. I carried that into my adult life. As a parent, I try to plan vacations that are entertaining yet teach my kids about their world. I want to instill an appreciation of the bountiful blessings we encounter both near and far. It could be a person, a custom, an item in nature or an experience. I feel we are more present while on vacation and take in things that normally pass us by. I also see traveling and volunteering as a great partnership. They compliment each other and one can lead to the other in perfect harmony. Through this blog, I hope to entertain, educate and excite your passion for travel and volunteering alike. I love finding the quirky, off the beaten path gems.
My goal for Bountiful Blessings is to be a place of inspiration, friendship and education. I enjoy learning and I love sharing the knowledge I’ve gained after traveling to 13 countries and multiple states. These experiences are presented so my readers can have a more pleasurable vacation. Alas, a trip wouldn’t be complete if I didn’t talk to strangers and interact with the locals. These people become the icing on the cake!
My choice of travel is varied. With a family of five, family travel is diverse. We all have different interests, but we tend to go for outdoor adventures. Friend trips can take me anywhere under the sun! Regardless, we know we’re going to have a good time. And then there are the days that I enjoy the beauty of solo travel. I typically find myself looking for educational and outdoor destinations.
Tracking down covered bridges, waterfalls, BIGS, or unique monuments could be on my agenda on any given day.
I hope you enjoy the posts, benefit from the advice given and have an amazing trip because of it.

I appreciate you taking the time out of your day to tell me more about the coffee shop. It was a pleasure hearing about all the ‘boots on the ground’ and to imagine all the hearts you are helping. I applaud you, your staff and your congregations for reaching out and providing a haven for the community.
